Russian painter Konstantin Yuon created a huge number of artistic images of winter in his paintings. He was very fond of Russian nature, he loved winter, its colors, he liked to depict snow - always different, now fresh, fluffy, now melted, gray. Therefore, there are many paintings that convey the artist's view of the winter.

From 1908 to 1958, the artist had a house in Ligachev, he painted many landscapes there, where he drew inspiration, and embodied it there. Let's look at and compare two paintings by Yuon on the same theme, painted in this village. These are the paintings "Sorceress-Winter" and "Russian Winter. Ligachevo".

The picture "Winter Enchantress" was painted by the artist in 1912, being a young, full of strength artist, looking for his themes and ways of expression, trying something new. This picture of a fervent winter mood, it tells about the joys of winter, about a snow-white fairy tale that transformed the earth, covered everything boring, gray, ugly under the snow. Winter brings the beauty of the landscape, the crunching of a snow-white blanket, the joy of winter fun - sledding from the mountains, ski trips, ice skating, horse-drawn sleigh rides. It is not surprising that the artist called winter a sorceress - thanks to her, everything sparkles and glistens in the sun.

The picture tells about one of the joyful days of winter and conveys to us what the artist saw from a high hillock. Before us is a village - on the right and left in the middle plan of the picture, the artist depicted wooden village houses. In the distance one can see a white snow-covered forest, on the left one can guess the dome of a village church on a hillock. This is a landscape. But it became alive and dynamic thanks to the groups of people and horses skillfully inscribed in it.

In the foreground is a frozen pond where children skate. Someone started a fuss in the snowdrifts. Several riders are on horseback, and a sleigh with horses is also passing by, followed by wood-carriers. A lot of people came out just to walk. Probably this Sunday - everyone is dressed quite smartly, the women are wearing bright skirts. As it should be in the village, a couple of dogs run right there - they ran after their boy owners.

The picture is somewhat reminiscent of old Dutch winter landscapes, including groups of people in motion, but at the same time it is filled with Russian color, Russian spirit, Russian poetics. Oh, and the Russian village is good in winter - one wants to say looking at this bright canvas.

Thirty-five years have passed, many historical events have passed, two wars and a revolution, and the same snowy winter has come. One day the artist again climbed the same hillock and looked at the village. What he saw - he told with the help of a brush and paints in the painting "Russian Winter. Ligachevo".

For the picture, the artist took a slightly different angle, but the theme, meaning, essence of the picture remained the same. Only now it is a picture of a mature master. And a little different time. Post-war, heavy, hungry. Only children came out to admire the charms of winter.

In the foreground is a wide, completely covered with snow road to the forest. The snow-covered forest is white with snow. Only a large spruce seems darker, it is also covered with snow, but still remains a dark spot in the landscape. Immediately the viewer's attention is attracted by a group of school-age boys emerging from the forest: four in front with a dog, a couple more a little behind.

A village begins behind the ravine - we see several houses on a hillock. Children are playing near them - winter for a child will always remain a sorceress and will always give him the joy of snow, the joy of winter games. There is a rider in the background, and a couple of horses near the houses.

In its coloring, this picture is very similar to the previous one: white and blue, light, with dark figures of people. But in terms of mood, it is slightly different from the first - there is no mystery and magic in it, unexpected joy. Just a beautiful winter day from the life of one village, ordinary in its own way, unique in its own way.

The painting "The Enchantress - Winter" was painted by the famous landscape painter Konstantin Fedorovich Yuon in 1912. During these years, the painter often turns his attention to village life and Russian nature.

Yuon depicts the outskirts of the village. Behind the houses is a snow-covered forest. Trees, as if in beautiful lace outfits, thanks to the frosty frost on their branches. In the distance, on a small hillock, in a light haze, one can see a little church. The boundless expanse of white snow is broken only by a thick dark green forest.

The day turned out to be exceptionally fine and sunny. The abundance of snow is literally blinding. And on this Sunday afternoon, a lot of people gathered outside the village outskirts and do not want to return home, because it is still unknown when the weather will be so wonderful again, the sun will also brightly illuminate the entire area, and a light frost will wrap the trees in sparkling silver capes, decorated with precious stones.

The young girls took out their best clothes. And when else to show off, if not now, when the season of field work has not yet begun. It seems that they went beyond the outskirts for a reason. In the distance we see village boys leading unhurried conversations, who glance askance at rural beauties flushed from a light frost.

Closer to the houses, another group of guys arranged a light workout for their horses, stagnant in the stalls. A wagon leaves the village, on which peasants go on business. Two neighbors are animatedly discussing household chores, and their horses stand sedately ready, waiting for this leisurely conversation to end.

A small pond covers smooth ice that has not yet melted, turning it into an excellent skating rink. The kids enjoy ice skating here. They are watched by elderly residents, a little upset that time flies so quickly. After all, it seems like quite recently they themselves skated here, and their mothers hardly drove them home when it was getting dark, and the lights were turned on in the houses.

A woman with a child is approaching the skating rink, who, without taking her eyes off, looks at the children skating merrily. Of course, not all the guys have skates, and many are watching the lucky ones with slight envy. Others play a snow fight, throwing the opposing team. Some began to fight to show their strength and prowess.

Yuon's painting "Sorceress - Winter" develops our imagination. It seems that we ourselves will soon find ourselves on this rural outskirts and ride on a sleigh or on skates with a breeze, and the frost will slightly pinch our cheeks. So you want to breathe in the unique smell of fresh winter air, walk through the creaky snow.

The artist painted a picture when he was young and he expressed this state of his from the beauty of the Russian winter in his work. Winter, like a magician, causes an amazing transformation of the world around us. Everything becomes bright, poetic and joyful.

Konstantin Fedorovich Yuon

Today we will get acquainted a little with the work of this artist; we will learn to convey our thoughts and impressions, build correct sentences and texts; Let's learn to see beauty.

Konstantin Fedorovich Yuon is one of the great Russian painters. His paintings "Spring Sunny Day", "The End of Winter", "Noon" are widely known.

He started drawing at the age of 8. He studied with such great artists as V.A. Serov, K.A. Korovin, I.I. Levitan. K.F. Yuon was very fond of spring and winter. He wrote "I was looking for new colors in nature - in Russian spring and winter."

Nature in the works of the artist is in no way conceivable without a person, without animals or birds, which not only enliven the landscape, but also form a single whole with it.

"Sorceress Winter"

His painting "Winter Sorceress" can be safely called a song of the Russian winter.

III. Preparatory work. Painting work.

Many writers and artists loved the Russian winter and called it affectionate names.

How can you call this time of year, with whom or with what to compare?

Winter beauty, guest,

needlewoman, sorceress

Remember the lines of poems about winter. Choose from them the most figurative expressions that characterize the Russian winter.

Look carefully at the picture again.

List what you see on it.

(The outskirts of the village, the river; along the banks of the trees, whimsically decorated,

covered in snow.)

What do you see in the foreground?

(River bank, trees on the bank; children skating.)

This view is very reminiscent of the lines of A.S. Pushkin:

Neater than fashionable parquet

The river shines, dressed in ice,

Boys joyful people

Ice skates cut through the ice.

Is it possible to say what the artist likes the most in the picture?

(He really likes the people who went out into the street. They are in a joyful mood because it was a great day. Everyone is busy with something of their own; but everything is done, as you can see in the picture, with great pleasure.)

Nature for Yuon is, first of all, the environment in which a person lives. The artist brings nature to life.

What did you especially notice about the middle shot?

(The trees are colorfully shown; they are very large; their branches bizarrely loom against the pinkish-grayish sky.)

Winter is primarily snow. How does the artist depict snow?

(Snow is silvery, bluish, white; snow covers with a fluffy carpet

earth; snow showered, decorated the branches of trees; snow lies on the roofs of houses)

And this abundance of snow gives greatness to Russian nature. Everything around becomes unusual and fabulous.

By exaggerating the size of the trees, the artist convinces us that winter is a sorceress.

What else creates the image of the sorceress of winter?

(Large snowdrifts, frosted trees, soft downy featherbeds and carpets of fluffy snow.)

Try using personifications to describe what transformations winter has made.

(Winter waved her white sleeve and covered the earth with her carpets. She waved another sleeve and turned the trees into fabulous giants. Where she covered them with silver frost, where she hung diamonds and pearls. She dressed up,

decorate all around.

What is your impression of the painting?

What feelings does it evoke in you?

(joy, lightness, charm)

This artist is considered one of the most talented. One of his famous paintings is "Winter Enchantment", which he painted in 1912, being a young, energetic painter, looking for his own, unique ways of expressing Russian nature on canvas. In this picture we see the fun of the winter season. Looking at it, we seem to find ourselves in a snow-white fairy tale, and this fairy tale, in my opinion, is created by snow, which adorns the earth and everything gloomy with its snow-white carpet.

In the picture, the artist captured the outskirts of the village. All the beauty of the winter landscape is illuminated by the bright sun, which casts precious crystals in the snowdrifts. The background of the picture is occupied by village houses, and behind us one can see a dense but snowy forest. The artist dressed all the trees in snow-white robes, and even the depicted dome of the temple is barely visible from under the snow. The foreground of the picture is occupied by a pond, the water of which has frozen from the bitter frosts. On this pond, local children set up a skating rink. Adults and the elderly are watching the children from the shore, and it seems to me that they remember their youth and youth, how they themselves could ride sleighs for days on end and throw snowballs. At the very pond, the boys play fervently in the snow, many just wallow in the snow. I saw that the picture shows a woman, she hurries to the skating rink on the pond with her small child.

This picture is saturated with joy and fun. People look happy, children are happily amused and having fun. You immediately want to plunge into their atmosphere, be close by, put on your skates and go forward, or make snowballs and play with the local kids until it gets dark. I liked this picture also because it depicts my favorite season. I really love winter, for its snow-white outfit.
